Bibenda awards with 5 bunches the Terre De La Custodia Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG EXUBERA 2008
The historic BIBENDA Guide, a reference for the wine world now for twenty-one years, in its new 2019 edition has awarded our Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG EXUBERA 2008 the highest possible score: 5 bunches.
The experts of the jury of the prestigious Guide, the only one officially adopted by the Italian Sommelier Association (AIS), have included Exubera among the chosen ‘excellent’ wines of our country.
The fact that the 2007 edition of EXUBERA had already received the 5 bunches in the 2018 edition is a new confirmation of the superior class of a wine that has become a symbol of the territory.
EXUBERA 2008
The Vintage:
2008, one of the best vintages of the last twenty years, was characterized by a perfect evolution of the various seasons: cold winter, rainy and well-ventilated spring, hot summer but with moderate rainfall, and a dry September, ideal climatic conditions that allowed a perfect ripening of the bunches.
The Wine:
After aging for 24 months in barriques and 8 years in bottles, it is perfectly structured both on the nose and on the palate, with evolved hints of red fruit jam, spices, leather, and undergrowth. The tannic vein, a distinctive feature of the variety, is well integrated into the wine thanks to an impressive structure.
Serving temperature:
20°C, after decanting.
Recommended with:
structured dishes, aged cheeses, braised meat.
